Rising Above the Neighbourhood
The Clearwater Construction crane is fast becoming a landmark on the Remuera horizon. Easily visible from all directions, the crane stands proud on the northern slopes, hard at work bringing Elm further upwards each day.
Following a short holiday break with family and friends, the Clearwater team members arrived back on-site in early January to set about elevating Elm over the neighbouring rooftops.
As the building grows vertically the exterior is starting to take shape behind the scaffolding, all to be revealed later this year.
The first major milestone for 2021 is to finish the Level 4 floor slab, scheduled to be completed over the next two weeks. Following this, the steel team will prepare and install the roof structure and Elm will arrive at its final height.
On the inside, the Level 1 apartments have been framed for walls, and service ducts, plumbing pipes and electrical wiring are currently being installed. On the upper levels, the interiors team are marking out wall locations and drilling through floor slabs for the plumbing.
The design team has also been working through some of the finishing touches in the shared common areas that will blend into the background at Elm, yet make living there seem effortless.
The entire team is working strongly together and on track for completion later this year. Everyone is looking forward to welcoming Elm's new residents into their apartments and that first dip in the pool.
